Anglican Women's Empowerment (AWE) connects women and girls in the Anglican Communion in order to share resources and opportunities, develop tools and training material, and promote advocacy for equality and justice. Its work is shaped by the Gospel as it relates to the issues defined by the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and the Beijing Platform for Action.

Countdown to 2015: Maternal, Newborn and Child Survival: This initiative is tracking the progress of Millennium Development Goals 4 (Reduce child mortality) and 5 (Improve Maternal Health) with a view to disseminating information on country-level progress; advocating for maternal, newborn and child health; and stimulating discussion and action. The Working Group on Girls, a non-governmental committee of UNICEF, and its International Network for Girls are dedicated to promoting the rights of girls in all areas and stages of their lives, advancing the rights and status of girls and assisting them to develop their full potential as women. Its on-line resources include fact sheets on the situation of girls, a toolkit for those working towards the elimination of discrimination and violence against the girl child, and lots more useful information.

The Mothers' Union is an international Christian charity seeking to support families worldwide. It has 4 million members working in 81 countries through a range of programmes at community level, from entrepreneur training to parenting. Mothers' Union also challenges root causes of injustice and works for better conditions in society for children and families.

Restored is an international Christian alliance working in partnership to transform relationships and end violence against women. The website aims to raise awareness of the extent of violence against women worldwide, and what we can all do to end it. Central to this is a vision of transformed relationships between men and women.

This is UNIFEM's Global Virtual Knowledge Centre to End Violence against Women and Girls. Its on-line resources bring together lessons learned and recommended practices gleaned from initiatives on ending violence against women and girls around the world. It is an excellent site and could inform initiatives in your own contexts.

On 2 July 2010, the UN General Assembly voted for the establishment of a new UN entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment. Operational from January 2011, this new entity combines the four gender entities within the UN: the Division for the Advancement of Women (DAW), the International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women (INSTRAW); the Office of the Special Adviser for Gender Issues and Advancement of Women (OSAGI).

UN Action Against Sexual Violence in Conflict (UN Action) is a concerted effort by the UN system to improve coordination and accountability, amplify programming and advocacy, and support national efforts to prevent sexual violence and respond effectively to the needs of survivors.
